Privacy Policy
Quick Shopping List helps users create shopping lists, scan receipts, and review spending for groceries and home items.
Information We Process
The app may process the following information:
- Shopping list items you create or edit
- Receipt text recognized from receipt photos
- Parsed receipt details, including item names, generic item names, store names, purchase dates, prices, quantities, units, and categories
- A device identifier or token used to enforce AI receipt parsing limits
The app does not require an account in the current version.
Receipt Photos and Text
When you choose to scan a receipt, the app reads text from the receipt image. Receipt text may be sent to our backend to parse the receipt into structured item and spending details.
Our backend may send receipt text to OpenAI for AI-assisted receipt parsing. Parsed results are returned to the app so you can review and edit them before saving.
Do not scan receipts that contain information you do not want processed, such as payment details, loyalty numbers, or other personal information.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide shopping list functionality
- Parse receipts
- Show spending summaries and price history
- Detect possible duplicate receipts
- Enforce weekly AI receipt parsing limits
- Maintain and troubleshoot the service
We do not sell personal information.
Third-Party Services
The app may use Cloudflare to host backend API services and OpenAI to process receipt text for AI-assisted receipt parsing. These providers process information only as needed to provide app functionality.
Data Storage
Shopping list and saved receipt data are stored by the app on your device.
Backend systems may process receipt text and request metadata when AI receipt parsing is used. Production systems should avoid storing full receipt text unless needed for troubleshooting, security, or service operation.
Data Sharing
We do not share your receipt or shopping list information with other users in the current version.
Future versions may add optional family sharing or anonymous price-sharing features. Those features would require clear opt-in before sharing data.
Security
The app uses HTTPS/TLS for network communication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we use reasonable technical measures to protect data used by the service.
Your Choices
You can use the shopping list without scanning receipts, review and edit parsed receipt data before saving, delete saved receipt data in the app, and contact us to ask questions about privacy or data deletion.
Children's Privacy
Quick Shopping List is not intended to collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
